Well, I just built a computer that I plan on putting windows on one hard drive and linux on another.

I can get a student discount for Vista Premium from my University. I heard these come with a free upgrade. Is this true?

Or…I could use the release candidate and buy Windows 7 when it comes out? (Basic I mean)

What would anyone else recommend?

i bought a laptop with windows vista installed on it. it has a built in reboot option. if i install windows vista, will i be able to reboot it with my built in reboot option? all i have to do is keep pressing on F10 and then the reboot and restore menu comes up. if i cant reboot it with my built in option, would i be able to use my windows 7 disk?

I just bought a new laptop from Best Buy that runs Windows Vista. The sales associate told me that I will get a free upgrade to Windows 7 once it is released, but I forgot to ask him how I will get it. Will it be a clean install or an upgrade?

I installed Windows 7, and now I want to put vista back on it because I repeatedly get a blue screen of death and I want it to stop. I have Vista in like 2-3 cds, I just gotta know how to uninstall Windows 7 and then install vista again.

I need a new laptop but since Windows 7 is coming out soon I decided to wait. Does anyone know when computers with Windows 7 will be available? I’ve already decided with laptop I want but right now every computer I’ve found has Windows Vista but has a free upgrade to Windows 7. I just want it with Windows 7 to begin with.

I keep reading conflicting info about whether a clean install can be done with Windows 7 Upgrade. I’ve read that an activated copy of Vista must be currently installed on the hard drive. Is this correct? Since I already have Vista installed, can I just leave Vista as it is and perform a Windows 7 install on a clean partition on the same drive?

There are some software for example of TrueCrypt that I have tested that can be installed into Windows 7 RC version, but cannot be installed into Windows 7 RTM version.
I need to know what is the difference between these 2 version, in terms of their services and or another other factors that can attribute to such an error in the installation of TrueCrypt in Windows 7 RTM version.

I recently ordered a Windows 7 upgrade from Acer for a Windows Vista PC I bought after June 1st. I’m entitled to the upgrade for free, but I have to pay Postage & Packaging in order for them to deliver it. Does anyone know how I pay for this?
